The 2010 Long Term & Post Acute Care (LTPAC) Health IT summit provides the latest and most comprehensive information on HIT policy issues and initiatives. Focused solely on long term and post acute care HIT, this event is a must attend for leaders, decision-makers, policy-makers, and individuals involved with HIT/EHR implementation. Attendees will keep abreast of the newest developments and obtain insights on emerging trends and research.
This year’s summit will cover key topics on the emerging agenda to leverage health Information technology, electronic health records, and information exchange to improve the cost, effectiveness and experience of health care for our nations seniors and chronically ill who are served by LTPAC providers.

You’ll notice that we have expanded our scope to long term and post acute care supports and services. The updated 2010 – 2012 Roadmap for Health IT in Long Term and Post Acute Care debuts revised initiatives and priorities including:
• Leveraging existing programs and policies
• Supporting certification of EHRs in LTPAC
• Advancing the adoption of HIT and EHRs
• Showcasing the latest technology and interoperability advancements for health information exchange in LTPAC
• HIT initiatives related to transition of care and medication management

The 2010 Summit will also address:
• Current policy developments and their impact on LTPAC including HITECH, meaningful use, ARRA and healthcare reform.
• State health information exchange initiatives and state grant opportunities.
• Current research, studies and data on LTPAC HIT use, adoption, and care delivery impact.
• Support for organizations just getting started with HIT and EHR implementation.
• Dialogue sessions that shape priorities and perspectives on HIT, EHRs and information exchange for long term and post acute care.

Showcase of Interoperable HIT for Long-Term and Post Acute-Care - Call for Participation
The 2010 Long-Term and Post-Acute Care Health Information Technology (LTPAC-HIT) Summit will take place June 7-8, 2010 at the Hyatt Regency Baltimore on the Inner Harbor Hotel in Baltimore, MD. This year’s Summit will feature an Interoperability Showcase demonstrating HIT interoperability for shared care, transfer of care, personal health and e-prescribing. The Showcase will take place Monday June 7, 12:00-7:00 p.m. with dedicated demonstration time between 3:00 and 5:00 p.m. Interested in showcasing your interoperable HIT system?
