The Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) is the principal federal entity charged with setting standards and certification of health information technology (HIT) infrastructure and products used by the nation’s health care system. In leading ONC, Dr. Mostashari promotes the adoption of HIT; oversees policy and the implementation of meaningful use; works with the S&I Framework Committees; and establishes governance for the Nationwide Health Information Network.
